the cultivation of “natural light”
During the making of these photographs, Nikosono was like a «gardener» focused on the cultivation of “natural light”. He can then «plant» in the viewers’ minds several core questions, such what is the place of the being into an organic organization of space?
How can one has a sense of deep connectedness to the universe? His creative process involves projecting shadows over the bodies and faces.
The photographic series «The Zebra Nude Experience» immerses us in the ever-widening and poetic world of the artist Nikosono. This series exhibition is an invitation to a fanciful journey where the audience can contemplate and feel the living while acknowledging the sunlight’s different dynamics.

An organic and a photographic tale
made of shadows, bodies and lights.
His creative process involves projecting shadows over the bodies and faces. Light is passed through different kinds of blinds and fabrics on to a naked model on the other side.
He redraws the human form creating abstract shapes on the skin, thus multiplying the realm. From the alliance between what is tangible and what is suggested, we are seeing the emergence of a fantasy world which seems to defy the laws of gravity and time.
The audience can explore this one with great jubilation : some of the framed images would be covered with black fabrics so the viewers could immerse themselves, equiped with small torch lights.
In this exhibtion, Nikosono’s art magnifies the physical structures. It makes them disappear while it transmutes them. Deities and bodyscapes arise. Nikosono’s images reveals suaves curves from humanoids silhouettes.
All the visual elements from this imaginary tale are gradually surrounding the eye which has lost its points of reference, The natural light used during the sessions evokes the profound connection between the artist, time and his environment simultaneously. The appointed hour for the photograph opportunity, and the season of the year are not selected randomly.
