Aboriginal languages

That week, exactly 10 years ago, I photographed the awe and wonder that this little aboriginal kid from the Northern Territory (Australia) felt for the game we had one afternoon.
Out of 150 Aboriginal languages which remain in use in 2019, only a dozen of them are still being transmitted to children.

2019 is the International Year of Indigenous Languages (IYIL2019), as declared by the United Nations General Assembly. This is being used to raise awareness of and support for the preservation of Aboriginal languages within Australia, including spreading knowledge about the importance of each language to the identity and knowledge of Indigenous groups.
